Who we are

FAPBM is a Trust Fund which constitutes an innovative mechanism for financing protected areas in Madagascar. Indeed, the Foundation is endowed with a capital invested in international markets.

Only the income from this capital is used to finance protected areas in Madagascar. This means that the capital remains intact over time, which ensures the sustainability of funding for biodiversity. After 15 years of existence, the mechanism is proving to be central because it is the only one capable of ensuring sustainable and predictable financing for protected areas.
