Who we are

FAPBM is a Private Foundation under Malagasy law which constitutes an innovative mechanism for financing protected areas in Madagascar. Indeed, the Foundation is endowed with a capital invested in international markets.

Only the returns from the investments are spent to finance protected areas in Madagascar. This means that the capital remains intact over time, which ensures the sustainability of funding for biodiversity. After 15 years of existence, the mechanism is proving to be central because it is the only one capable of ensuring sustainable and predictable financing for protected areas.
